tv musings
I really want to buy Still Life by Aqualung, but to get it in Canada is crazy expensive. Been searching ebay but so far no luck in getting a good deal. This is delayed, but may I add how horribly stupidly ridiculously dumb the QAF season finale was? I didn't know whether to hide in embarrassment for watching the thing, or throw things at the tv. That's a season finale? I think I yelled at the tv instead, but it didn't do any good. My god I wish they'd hire some moderately acceptable writers. Blech...Also, watching season 7 Buffy on Spacecast. Not hating it yet, (was expecting the worst considering all I've read). Will see how it goes, as I'm only about 5 eps in. I'm just hoping Spike ditches his hideous blue leotard-like shirt soon. Also, today's was Anya centric, which I don't mind, but they had her singing a song from (we assume) OMWF that we never got to see. I must assume Joss had no involvement in it, because it was really quite boring and bad.
Retook the test, and...
this seems to be more me:you are cadetblue#5F9EA0Your dominant hues are green and blue. You're smart and you know it, and want to use your power to help people and relate to others. Even though you tend to battle with yourself, you solve other people's conflicts well.Your saturation level is lower than average - You don't stress out over things and don't understand people who do. Finishing projects may sometimes be a challenge, but you schedule time as you see fit and the important things all happen in the end, even if not everyone sees your grand master plan.Your outlook on life can be bright or dark, depending on the situation. kali kept me up t...
kali kept me up till 2:30 this morning on the phone--I didn't mind because I don't have to work today, but god I'm tired this morning. I made myself get up at quarter after ten, otherwise I was gonna sleep until 2pm, I know it. ...must...fight...return to napping cycle......this test is really interesting...you are seagreen#2E8B57Your dominant hues are cyan and green. Although you definately strive to be logical you care about people and know there's a time and place for thinking emotionally. Your head rules most things but your heart rules others, and getting them to meet in the middle takes a lot of your energy some days.Your saturation level is higher than average - You know what you want, but sometimes know not to tell everyone. You value accomplishments and know you can get the job done, so don't be afraid to run out and make things happen.Your outlook on life can be bright or dark, depending on the situation. QAF
What is Queer as Folk doing to me? It had such a good initial season and has just been spiraling downhill since then. What is with these writers? It seems like every plot gets resolved after one episode. And while Gale Harold/Brian is always *enjoyable*, the other plot lines are thin/uninteresting for the most part. I'm really just hating Emmett this season, likely because they got him together with Ted in the first place, and I'm bitter, and now because he's so unlikable. And Monday's episode with the social worker "recognizing" that Debbie and Michael's argument was an expression of love? While it was, lets be realistic for god sakes, there's no way she would have let them keep Hunter. Not that that story line isn't a little ridiculous on its own.Anyway, I guess it's obvious that I'm dissapointed. On a positive note, I got my "This Is How We Do It On TWoP, Bitch" T-shirt. I'm debating on buying the new American Idol one too, but that's money I don't have yet. Also, I wish they'd made a "Your Not Seth Cohen" t-shirt because yeah, I'm sad and Adam Brody is my boyfriend.ETA: that hungry icon looks either frightening or rude...maybe both.

back from England
so I have finally returned...and may or may not be without a job. I loved seeing the stone circles and being able to trace back my family history. My favorite was "Long Meg and Her Daughters -- it was amazing because no one else was there. I was also "glad to finally see Stonehenge, although it is terrible that we're roped so far back from it, (and that there were so many people there -- didn't they know I was coming?) Next time I want to explore London more fully though. The plane ride back was much more endurable than the way there, possibly because I didnt have to sit squished in between two rather large women for 9 and a half hours. I'm glad to be back in Canada though -- it's practically summer here!

Movies...
Going to see either 21 Grams or Girl with a Pearl Earring today. Not sure which yet, but I need to get out of the house. Maybe later I'll rent Freddy vs. Jason. I need some laughs and I can't NOT see such a bad yet entertaining film, can I? I need to find someone who shares my love for bad horror movies. On Wednesday, the office staff decided to choose a newspaper article to discuss with my class that involved a snake biting a man's scrotum. Now, I have no problem discussing male genitalia, but that doesnt mean I want to define it to a group of foreign language students. Oh, it was such fun! I'm thinking of incorporating movie clips into some classes. I found an awesome lesson plan on the movie Shallow Grave, and I might make my own for some of Ferris Bueller's Day Off. We'll see how it goes.

Thinking...
So after months of obsessively checking updates on a number of fanfic writers journals, and seen_unforeseen, which is, quite frankly, amazing, I've finally got my own live journal. I guess I've been afraid to indulge my inner attention-whore, who is ecstatic at the idea of writing about herself on-line. She's also the one who wanted me to try out for Canadian Idol, (Alas, I decided not to as it would mean I couldn't be immortalized in snark in the TWoP recaps. Only American Idol for them). Speaking of inner selves:It's off to work tomorrow teaching conversation English. Blech, I hate getting up in the morning...
